Best way to sell unneeded Broadway tix?

I have a single mid-orchestra seat for Kinky Boots May 2 , and a single aisle 4th row left orchestra seat for Once for May 4.

I could use advice on the best way to sell them at face value (or less if need be). I will be attending both shows in different seats, these are tix I bought for my daughter who now can not go.

Is it legal to try to sell them night of show in front of theater for face value, and if so, is there any chance of sucess doing so? I'd rather avoid eBay; although I have sold items there in the past, I am going to be traveling up until the time of the trip to NYC and it will be difficult to get them mailed out.

Ideas? Thank you in advance.

You can always resell them for face-value. That's legal. Ebay isn't the venue, though. It's StubHub. The site was created to sell excess tickets. It may be a tough sell to get rid of a single ticket, but I'd do that before trying to sell them in front of the theater.

I also recommend StubHub--I have used them for both buying and selling tickets. If someone buys your ticket, StubHub emails you a FedEx shipping ticket to send it to the buyer so if you have access to email (and a printer) while you are traveling, it is doable.

I have also sold a few tickets outside the venue, always for face value or less, and even bought one that way, but it's risky--that is such a new show I don't know what the demand is for it--if you were selling tickets to Book of Mormon--no problem!

Thank you. I did use Stubhub, and I used their "last minute service" (LMS) in NYC last weekend. It was great.

I loaded the two tix I described above on their website, then I went to their location at 1440 Broadway and gave them the tix.

The Kinky Boots tic sold the day of the performance for face value. The Once tic sold late the night before the show. I took a bit of a hit on that one as I lowered the price once after I listed it, but it sold so I was happy.

THe whole LMS experience was easy and painless. You take the tickets to them, tickets sell and buyer goes to that location to pick them up. My Paypal acct. was credited within 2 days.

Good to know. I was just wondering about this last night - in case I bought tickets for myself and "what if" a friend wanted to join me and I bought new/different tickets.
