Best View From Your NYC Hotel Room

Bedbugs aside...

We're going to be in NYC this spring. First time. Going all out. Which hotel has the best vista views of Gotham's cityscape?

A park-view room at the Essex House did it for me last spring! Sign up for emails from them and you may be able to get in at a special rate.

I'd have to agree with Maggi that the park views from Central Park South are truly outstanding. In addition to the Westin Essex House, the Ritz Carlton Central Park and the Trump International would also have potential for the same view. All of these are pretty pricey.

You can find good views at a number of the Times Square area hotels but it will be "cityscape" views (not including the park usually). The Marriott Marquis (has floor to ceiling windows), the Renaissance Times Square, the Doubletree Guest Suites TS all have good views from upper floors.

If you stay dowtown in the Financial district (Marriott Financial, Millenium Hilton, Ritz Carlton Battery Park), those hotels have some views of the Statue of Liberty.

There are really a lot of hotels with potential for good views if you're on a high floor. It all depends on what sort of view you want. Many of the midtown hotels have views of the Empire State and/or the Chrysler building.

There are a lot of rooms at the Mandarin Oriental that have great views of the Park and surroundings. The hotel is also superb.

Depending on time of year and availability (and you must book a park view room) you're lookng at $600 plus for a double.

If I were "going all out" in NYC, I'd go with the Mandarin Oriental.

Someday...
Maybe...
I wish...

And I'd go swimming in the pool - click on the pool picture for a better look

From one of the higher floors at Milennium UN PLaza, south side, you can see from the UN area on the east side way down to the Battery and harbor beyond. All directions have good views but south is the best.
The hotel, however, is not what it used be in its days as a Park Hyatt.

Yep, nyer. Some guy topped a lot of old threads to place an ad. When we noticed, we reported it to the editors and his posts have been deleted.
