Best Vegas show for kids?
 

I'm thinking we'd like a magic show, but we'd be open to anything appropriate and fun.

We're going in late March.

By appropriate I mean topics, price, location, whatever else you factor into 'would I take my kids?'

Criss Angel "Believe" at the Luxor.

A beautifully choreographed magic show. Cirque du Soleil performers are a major part of the show.

Just magical.

Cirque shows all sound great to me, if I can afford one.

Can you tell me what part of this show caused them to write 'Show content may not be suitable for children, parental guidance is recommended.' in its description? Is there something there, or are they just being cautious?

My son is just starting school--definately not a preschooler any more, but still young.

Without knowing who wrote the review I can only state the following:

Perhaps it;s some of the female outfits - BUT at the end they are no more risque than a Ringling Bros Circus female performers.

Perhaps it's the "scary" parts, BUT again, I believe most kids are able to absorb it and just simply enjoy the show.

There is NOTHING totally adult or really weird about the show.

It's a magic show combined with CdS performers.

That's about all I can tell you.

You will have to make the final decision.

Mac King does an afternoon magic show that is funny for children and adults alike.

The BlueMan Group and Cirq's Mystere are both great options for kids! My kids loved both!

Lance Burton

I've thought about Lance Burton, if we can get a much-discounted deal on tkts. My sister saw him a few years ago and loved him, but says she'd never pay $66 for anything.

Blue Man group sounds fun too, but they also perform in Berlin, about 2 hrs from where we live.

Mac King is definitely on my Radar!

TamBennet, how old are your kids? It sounds like the warning label on the Mystere website is mostly for legal purposes, but what are the 'scary parts'?

Blue Man Group - no doubt. My kids listen to the music all the time now.

I am sure you realize how expensive this will be. Your kids (depending on age and personality) might be just as happy with free / less expensive "shows". Hitting the outdoor shows (like Volcanoes and the Fountains at Bellagio) is fun and short. No time to get bored.

Magic Garden and Dolphin at Mirage are great, much cheaper than a show.

Save the shows for back home. In Las Vegas its all one big, walk-around show.

If you insist - Blue Man Group.

How old are the kids? If there not too young, I second Blue Man or Mystere.

As for Chris Angel, it's the worst show I've ever seen in Vegas. I love Cirque (seen 5 shows) but this was/is just bad.

My son is 6.

I'm not interested in Blue Man in Vegas, because we can see it close(r) to where we live, because sounds better for older kids (USATravlr, how old are yours?), and because I cannot see spending that amount of money on a ticket for a child to see a show (unless there's a huge discount).

Nathan Burton and Comedy Pet--I'll have to check them out.

We'll be there for a conference. I'm planning to use the freebies (volcano, fountains, Atlantis, etc) to meet him and the babysitter at the end of the day. If I'm late, nobody will care (I hope!)

I second the vote for Mystere; with small children, I think I'd steer clear of Ka~it just seemed to me a bit dark and loud for a small child. My daughter loves the fountain at the Bellagio; I have joked with her that I could simply leave her an ice chest full of snacks and drinks and leave her there all day; she smiles and nods her head.

My kids are 11 and 16! They have seen the Blue Man Group twice and 3 Cirq shows! I don't recall anything scary in Mystere! Your son should be very intrigued with Mystere! He may be a little to young for Blue Man simply because of the noise levels! I think my son was 5 when we saw La Nouba in Orlando and he talked about it for months! It's similar to Mystere!

Did anyone mention the Pirate show at Treasure Island?

Saw the pirate show in March, and it was a bit risque for little ones, if not downright sleazy.....

Oh sorry, It must be different from the last time I was there!

I believe the pirate show has changed~the friends I went with in March had taken their then 9- and 6-year old sons, and they said it was family appropriate several years ago; this time, there were scantily clad "sirens" and lots of sexual innuendo.

Thanks tenthumbs! I will make sure not to recommend that again! It's a shame they changed it!

No one has mentioned the joust at Excalibur yet. Does that mean it's not as good as its advertizing makes it look? Have any of you seen it?
