Best Vegas hotel with 12 & 15 year olds
Will be in Vegas for 2 nights early October 2018 with hubby and kids aged 12, 15. They are both very young at heart and still love pool slides etc any recommendations for best places to stay?
We won't have a car, and don't mind walking or taking a bus to the main strip. TIA |
The Golden Nugget along the Fremont Street Experience has a pool with a slide that goes through the shark tank.
If you pay for the buffet at the Golden Nugget before 3 PM, it is cheaper. The world's largest gold nugget on public display is at the Golden Nugget (62+ lb.) Within 20 feet of the nugget is a vending machine where you can buy gold. There is also a zip line under the light display on the Fremont Street Experience. |
Sounds amazing, thanks tomfuller

Anyone stayed at MGM Signature?
|
I have stayed at Signature with teens. The pools at MGM are very fun but it is a long walk from the Signature towers to everything. We did see Ka which is there at MGM so that was convenient.

Thanks livetoroam - that show looks great.

I would say the Nugget too... my boys LOVED it! We also stayed at the Monte Carlo, which has a small, lazy river, which is in a mid strip location and we were able to walk a lot. Don't miss taking them out to the Hoover Dam ... very impressive and cool... worth renting a car if necessary.

Thanks lynni, trip advisor is not too kind to the Nugget, so it put me off.
We may have time to visit Hoover Dam on way back from south rim. I'll also take a look at Monte Carlo. |
We stayed at Signature, we liked not having to deal with casino in lobby. It wasn't too difficult to walk or get around from the hotel.

The pool at the Monte Carlo is closed. guests can use the MGM pool while the Monte Carlo pool is under construction. |
The Golden Nugget is in downtown or "old" Vegas. It's right on the Freemont Street Experience, the continual sidewalk show, and it's kind of a carnival atmosphere down there. However, you will be far from the "strip." You can take a bus to the strip, or you might consider staying at a property on the monorail, which would make it easier to travel to a lot of the hotels.
If staying on the strip, I prefer mid-strip like the Flamingo, Caesars, etc. area just because so much is right there. Properties further out are less conducive to walking from one place to another. October should be a great time to go! |
Thank you sf7307 & jayne1973

sf7307: Thanks for that... I certainly didn't know!

I stayed at the Signature w my daughter and two of her friends, for my daughter's 21st birthday. We loved it. Loved having a full kitchen, loved the balcony on 23rd floor, loved the one bedrm suite (the firls got the bedrm and master bath, I. Stayed on couch and had separate full bath in living area). Be sure to join MLife rewards if you stay at Singature, before you make your reservation.
The pools at Signature were very nice. We used the interior walkway to go to the MGm pools twice in the wk we were there. Did not find it too far to walk for us, it is all inside and climate controlled. Signature has a lil coffee shop/sandwich/pastry place that came in handy. I recently was in Vegas for another wk at Wyndham Grand Desert behind the Signature on Harwin DR, and had groceries delivered from VONS grocery store .( affiliated w Safeway) the morning after we arrived. That was GREAT. i prepordered online, and wince it was the first time I. Used their service, the delivery fee was waived. We got $200 worth of drinks, groceries, beer and wine for a wk of breakfast and lunches and snacks for 4 people. SO worth it. Vons delievered within a 2 hr window, arrived right on time, everything was right w the order. This was MUCH better than grocery shopping at the expensive Walgreens at Harin and the strip, and having to lug our groceries back when we stqyed at Signature. Highly recommend the Vons delivery. |
Fantastic tips emd3
