Best travel options
Hi! Early next spring, we will be traveling to CA from the east. We plan to fly into San Jose for business, but we also have other business and pleasure destinations of San Diego and Salt Lake City.
What is the best travel method for us? We don't really want to drive all those places - lot of miles, so would prefer some type of public transport - train, plane, etc. I'm also trying not to break the bank, so if you'd keep a budget in mind with suggestions, I'd appreciate it. Oh - there are two of us traveling. Thanks for help, suggestions, and advice. Tracy |
Southwest Airlines goes into all three cities and if you buy early enough (sing up for their "Ding" program) you can get fairly cheap 1 one tickets between SJ, SD, and SL.

Definitely fly.

Flights from San Jose or San Diego to Las Vegas should be very cheap. If you have time, and it's not too early in the spring, drive from Las Vegas to Salt Lake City...beautiful.

Looks like round trip fare is running in the 180- ish amount for March 07 from San Jose to Las Vegas. I'm not sure if that's cheap, but I have seen it over $200.- in the past few years.

San Diego to Las Vegas was only $117.- round trip for the same days in March. That's the Internet special for both (they do sell out), but not the "Ding".

I think you'll want to fly.
