Best Town near Holyoke
I'm spending a few days working in Holyoke. In which of the nearby towns should I stay? Recommendations for hotels and restaurants would be appreciated.

Holyoke MA?<BR><BR>Could stay in Springfield or Northampton. Springfirld has some good reatuarants and the Basket Ball Hall of Fame is located there.<BR><BR>Northampton has fabulous resataurants and is very artsy, cultural community.

I would reccommend Northhampdon - very interesting college town with lots of shops, cafes, etc.

I'd go with Northampton for the same reasons as DougD. Hotel Northampton is right in the center of town and from there you can walk to any number of restaurants, cafes and shops.<BR><BR>I would recommend East Side Grill for dinner. Spoleto is also good, as is Cha Cha Cha Latin Grill for lunch. <BR><BR>If you're into art at all, don't miss the Smith College Museum of Art, one of the best small museums in the country.<BR><BR>'Hamp's best website is http://www.noho.com

Noho is the place!!! Lots to do and see. Great restaurants and shops. You can feel safe if walking down the street at night.<BR><BR>

I was born and raised in Holyoke, Massachusetts. My first questions is what the heck type of business are you on that would send you to Holyoke, MA?
Having said that, I would recommend that you check out the Delaney House located in Holyoke (Smith's Ferry is a section of Holyoke) it is a restaurant and hotel. Excellent. They just underwent a 10 million dollar renovation. If you like Cajun food, I would check out Big Mamou's located in Springfield. They are right across the street for them main post office. The basketball Hall of Fame just opened it's new building. And of course you have to shop at the TAX FREE Holyoke Mall. |
Unless you're really into basketball, stay away from the Hall of Fame. It's a bore.
