Best Time to Visit Las Vegas

We usually go to Vegas right after the Rodeo ends; about the 10th of December. It's relatively quiet then, no overwhelming long buffet lines, etc. We'd also like to find a similiar time in the Spring. Is mid-May or early June better? Thank you, I know I'll get lots of good advice here.

The weather starts getting pretty warm in late May so room rates begin to decline, but not to the levels immediately after the NFR.

Thank you for your answer, westie. We aren't too worried about the weather, as long as it's not too unbearable. We stay downtown so the casinos are close together(as I'm sue you know) and we've heard the canopy over Freemont Street keeps the blazing sun out somewhat. We love a bargain room rate just as much as the next person, but what we REALLY want is another time, other than when we go in December, with relatively few tourists around.

My husband and I were in LV early June this past year. It was not horribly crowded, however, we could see a large difference between weekends versus weekday. I would think weekends tend to be crowded at any time of the year. I have no other time to compare with such as in Dec. but I would feel safe if I were you going in early June.

Many schools are out by mid-late May out this way (I live in AZ) so people with kids will be in Vegas after mid-May. I do not know if that is an issue but it does add to the crowd factor. I rarely go downtown but the Strip will be crowded with parents & kids regularly after May. Try and go the early part of May. We frequently go then and while it's crowded it is not as bad as other months can be.

Weekends will always be more crowded, there are literally millions of people living within a 5-6 hr. drive of Vegas so going "up for the weekend" is practically a routine thing for many.
