best time to visit gnp?

We're starting to plan a trip to Glacier
Nat'l Park next year and would like to go either end of June (figuring main road would be open by then) or end of July. All the books say most people are there in July/August. Is it really crowded? Is it less crowded in June? And when's the best wildflower viewing?
Thanks! The Park looks amazing in all the pictures!

Live 30 miles from the park. June would be pushing the opening of going to the sun road. Though it is crowded in july/August the reason is of course is that it is the best time to visit. Wild flowers are out from June till August depending on altitude.
Come on out ,you'll love it!!

The weather at the end of June can be very risky - sometime nice but sometimes very cold. End of July is much better and the concept of crowded is all relative. You will have no trouble getting around due to crowds. It is a beautiful place and you will have a great time.
