Best time of year to visit Wyoming

What is the best time of year to visit Wyoming in regards to weather and crowds?

We went to Yellowstone/Tetons mid-June. We lucked out, because it had snowed a lot and part of the park road was closed, but everything opened up the second day we were there. The crowds weren't very bad. Good thing about this time of year is that you are more likely to see bears and all of the animals have babies. Plus, waterfalls are really rocking.
In the fall, the foliage would be nice, crowds thin, and probably decent weather. Elk would be in rut, so that would be interesting in the fall.

Summer, the park is more crowded, but get off the road 1/2 mile for a hike, and you might not see anyone. You could swim in the Firehole river in the summer.

Each season has its pros and cons. I hope to go there for a winter visit soon.

What else did you want to do in Wyoming. There is many different things in Jackson, depending on what time of year.

Yes, what do you plan to do? We've been in September/October a couple of times, and the fall foliage is beautiful. However, last year, September was unseasonably warm and the foliage had not turned yet - we were a week too early.

When I lived nearby I felt the best times were Sept to mid-Oct and early June IF the roads are open. Normally crisp nights, cool but sunny days and a whole lot fewer of your fellow tourists.
