Best sushi in Oahu

We are staying in Waikiki and want to know the best Sushi place around there? Thanks.

The Kacho Japanese Restaurant in the Waikiki Parc Hotel near the Halekulani Hotel should be very nice.

You may have more fun if you find an izakaya (neighborhood bistro) outside of Waikiki. Try Akasaka near Ala Moana Shopping Center, or Tokkuri-tei in the Kapahulu area.

I would also venture out of Waikiki. Sansei in Restaurant Row is good--but better if you go for their happy hour so the prices are cheaper. Sasabune on King Street is also excellent, lunch is WAY cheaper than dinner. I used to recommend Miraku (also on King) but I just passed by and they appear to have closed permanently.....which bums me out since I just moved into the neighborhood.

Although I second the advice to get out of Waikiki for the best sushi at reasonable prices, another good option besides Kacho is Furasato in the Hyatt.

Those fancy places are nice but how bout the more affordable chains like Kozo Sushi, Genki Sushi and Catch of the Day? Any preference?

I'm sure there are some other smaller guys I'm not thinking of as well..

Yanagi Sushi was very good. Not real fancy if that's what you are looking for but really fresh fish and large pieces. Recommended by the concierge of the Hyatt.

Yanagi Sushi
762 Kapiolani Blvd
Honolulu, HI 96813-5215

I'm pleased to say that Kats Sushi (near Yanagi but on King Street) has new owners and the all-you-can-eat special is back up to par. Just $20 for the all you can eat special; the combinations are very good!

I don't do sushi, but check into the Rock n Roll Sushi Grill on Ward Ave.

Gotta put in a plug for Kacho...was fantastic. Very formal place though.

The best sushi on Oahu is Sasabune on King Street.

I have already commented about Waikiki places.

For a culinary excursion, go downtown to Supreme Sushi. They have initiated an all-you-can-eat lunch menu for $13!

Let me just say: maguro, hamachi, salmon, ebi, shiromi, tako, ika, hokkigai, unagi, tamago. Handrolls, including California and spicy tuna, specialty rolls including caterpillar, rainbow, soft shell crab, Dragon, and Creamy Ahi Dynamite.

Ameilissa Chang will go there and think that she has died and gone to Heaven!

It's now 10, I just got home from all you can eat at Kats Sushi, always a good choice at $21 and very fresh!

Anthony, I know a lot of people like that dynamite sushi but for some reason my friends & I didn't care for it? We did like Supreme Sushi's soft shell crab salad though.

Ameillisa, your response is a little garbled. Have we been hitting the sake bottle again?

What means, "It's now 10?"

It's now TEN O CLOCK. Hoo boy I cannot believe we are from the same gene pool.
