Best Sushi in Maui

we are going to Maui in Dec. and most of our group loves sushi...can anyone recommend a great sushi restaurant that is not too over-crowded with tourists? We are staying in Kihei, if that helps. Thanks!

We'll let the board's expert on Hawaii answer this one. Who? Me, of course!!

The best sushi on Maui is at San Sei. Two locations--Kapalua and Kihei. Flavor of crowd changes throughout evening. Tourists go early. Locals and hip crowd go late for Kareoke.

That's where you want to go. You decide the time.

I second the vote for sansei. The best i have found on Maui by far. But i would suggest going early is not just for tourists. They run a 50% off special on some nights early in the evening so a lot of locals will go then to take advantage of that.

thanks for the help, so, is Sansei the only decent place on Maui for sushi? I like simple decisions so if that's the concensus that's where we'll go!
