Best Sushi
 

Hello Wonderful travelers! I am still planning my trip to the Big Island and Kaui. I would like to add a "local" kind of sushi restaurants. Can anyone provide some suggestions? Thank you so much!

The sushi is unusual, innovative, and uses the freshest island local ingredients. The restaurant is small and quirky, but has a great reputation. Even Alan Wong is a fan!

Be sure to call for reservations or at least check the hours they are open, as it may be a bit off the beaten path. Hawi, Kapa'au, and Pololu are beautiful places to visit with several other great restaurants and the drive is lovely.

I like Ocean's Deli in Hilo but I haven't been there in two years.

SanSei located at the Queens Market Place in Waikoloa Beach Resort has fabulous sushi. The panko crusted ahi roll is my husband's favorite and I love the cajun seared white tuna sashimi! Aloha and have a great time.

SanSei Sushi has some early bird & late night sushi specials you might want to consider. We go to their Waikiki branch & it's one of my dad's favorite places because he thinks it's such a good deal.
