Best Spa Resort
 

We are going to visit Mom in Florida in May and it is my husbands birthday. He has requested 2 or 3 days at a spa. Any recommendations for a spa resort in either the Fort Lauderdale, Key West or Palm Beach area.

I thought you were going to Las Vegas?

The only "true" spa we have in Key West is one at the Pier House Resort. It is nice but nothing I would plan a vacation around. They also keep talking about renovating it (which it needs) so you might want to double check that it will be open during the dates you are considering.

Dear curious. Las Vegas is also a possibility and so is Mexico. So I am looking at spas in all three places. No one has mentioned spas in Palm Beach or Fort Lauderdale.

Linda - We have stayed several times at the Lago Mar Resort in Fort Lauderdale. In their latest news section on their web site they state that they are opening a spa during the winter season. Check out their web site at http://www.lagomar.com . The resort is GREAT and is well situated right on the beach, which can't be said for too many places in Fort Lauderdale.

Harry R.....I do believe I know you! Odd to bump into an acquaintance (if even an internet acquaintance) here and recognize them by their post. We've conversed on P*'s travel BB any number of times! Your wife is S, right? We haven't made it over to Lauderdale *yet*, time got away from us so it's still on the agenda in the future, but I did appreciate your recs on restaurants, etc. Hope you all have a white Christmas! Not hope for that here and this is the one time of the year I'd like to see some of that stuff.

OliveOyl-<BR> Yes, it is I! Hope you get to make that trip over with hubby to Fort Lauderdale. Our trip to Key West, Key Largo and Ft. L. went well. We are now finalizing our plans for our January trip to Hawaii, a first for us. It was kind of fun to cruise around Deerfield Beach and check out the palms and boats decorated for the holidays. Take a look at the Lago Mar site, it has been updated recently. They seem to be doing everything right lately. Happy holidays to all your family.
