Best spa in Sonoma County?

I would like to treat my mom to a luxurious spa experience in Sonoma. Any suggestions for a wonderful hotel w/ a spa?

My husband and I had a massage at the Fairmont Sonoma Mission in about 3 weeks ago. The service was great but also the place is very relaxing. You will start with a bathing ritual which simply is about 45 minutes prior to your service, you would (in bathing suits) shower with an exfoliant, jump into the mineral water for 5 minutes, jump into the hot tub for 5 minutes, jump into the steam room for 5 minutes, and then 5 minutes in the sauna. You are relaxed by the time you have your service but you enjoy it that much more. You and your mother can then hang out either in the loggia which is just an area with toweled lounge chairs or relax in their pool area and have some lunch. It would make a great mother/daughter day.

Have fun.

Thanks for your comments, kimamom and gemjab. I loved the Sonoma Mission Inn when I went there 6 yrs ago, but I had recently read terrible reviews in Tripadvisor, which worried me. Your input is reassuring.

Kimamom, I said the the Fairmont Sonoma Mission Ranch was a total delight. The spa services were exceptionally good and relaxing. We stayed in a Mission Suite and it was probably my most favorite suite to stay in and I've stayed in some very nice ones. Also, the personnel and staff are very helpful.

dhberry, I was wondering what the bad reports said about the SMI on Tripadvisor, were they from quite awhile ago before the remodel? ***kim***
