Best Shave Ice on Maui
 

Never had it, heard alot about it, would like to know the best place on the island for it. <BR> <BR>Thanks

Stay away from the places that use a machine to chop up icecubes which is what we mostly saw in Lahaina. Look for a place that has the block of ice that they "shave." The only place that I remember where finding the real shave ice on Maui was Tobi's in Kihei, their shave iced had a very fine texture. It would be worth the trip to Kihei if you don't find the real thing elsewhere on the island, as the chopped up ice cubes aren't the same. Tobi's was on the main drag in Kihei, across the street from the beache and just down from Bubba's Burgers.

Shaved ice is the most heavenly treat, I bought it everyplace I saw it served in Hawaii including Lahaina and Kihea but I dont remember the names of the places. Many roadside stands sell it, coffee shops sell it, etc.. <BR>

get shave ice with ice cream..... <BR>they put a scoop of ice cream in a dish and the shave ice on top and finish it off with syrup....had it in hanalei(kauai)....and it was fabulous...kind of tasted like a creamsicle..

I wish I could tell you the name of the place, but it was the only shave ice place in Paia. Tiny, tiny shop run by a husband & wife team.
