Best seats from SFO to OGG

Can somebody tell me the best seats flying out of San Francisco to Maui? Looking to book soon, but just curious as to which seats/side of plane afford the best view when nearing Kahalui airport. Never been there, so not sure which direction the airport is approached from. Thanks!!!

It has to do more with the weather than anything else. Approaches and landings are dictated by the wind and weather so the landing approach could be different every time.

Go to Flyertalk.com and post this question as there are a lot of professional pilots that frequent that board.

Sit on left side (seats A,B ). Typically plane flies across the central valley, u-turns and lands. Depends on the weather. Once we did a (counter-clockwise) circuit of the NW end of the island so had a great view of that coast all the way around. Have a great trip.

I've been flying into OGG "forever" and have only taken a reverse (east-west) landing once last year during a "Kona Wind".Very strange. But usually you want to be on the left (facing the pilot) side and AS FAR FROM THE REAR AS POSSIBLE!Great view of Haleakea as you approach, then u turn over the valley and Kihei and return to land near the east coast of the valley. The airport will be on the left...however if you are on the right, you get the opposite and a cool view during landing of the private jets that belong to all the fantastic stars of stage and screen who have property there!! Oh, Wow! Just enjoy the guaranteed bumpy (due to the winds) landing and ALOHA!!!
In the back of the plane, nearer to the toilets, passengers often make lines by your seat which are unbearable, unless the attendants are vigilant and force them to sit down, not to bet on!
Try and get a seat as far front as possible.
