Best Seat at the Golden Theatre NYC

Hello!

I want to get the best seat for this theatre. Is front row too close? What is the best seat?

Just to clarify - the seats available or row BB or O.

I'd go for the front row. Sometimes too close for big musicals, but Driving Miss Daisy? Perfect -- you'll see every expression. Row O is near the back, way under the balcony -- hard to see and often harder to hear -- I hate the sound quality when tucked under the balcony.

I never like sitting right in the front - there are too many times you may miss things happenig on the back or sides of the stage. My ideal seats are about in row 10 of the orchestra right in the center.

Would it be better to sit in the first row of the Mezzanine?

Oh, now you're talking -- that's my favorite place to sit -- especially in a small theatre like the Golden -- even though you often have very limited leg room.

I would agree with nytraveler, except it's hard to imagine anything happening way upstage in Driving Miss Daisy! It's just not that kind of a show. And a little "neck craning" is worth it to me to get the intimate closeness of an intimate show like this.

And for a show like this in regular arena staging (not a raised stage) I'd KILL for front row, intimate seating.
