Best Seafood @ Marco Island?
Hi all,
Was just wondering if anyone out there could recommend a good restaurant for seafood and/or steaks on Marco Island.
How is the restaurant at the Marriott? Average hotel food?
I've read all about the restaurant recommendations in Naples, but would like to know what good places are right in Marco.
Any advice would be appreciated!

Yes, the Marriott has average hotel food. As does the Hilton and the other hotels. But having said that, I would be willing to see that the "average hotel food" at those places is still likely to be a notch or two above the bulk of the restaurants on Marco. Frankly most people in Marco who want a "special" dining experience do travel to Naples, where the better, high end or "trendy" restaurants are. For a really nice dining experience, above average for Marco, some do rave about Marek's Collier House. And just off Marco Island on Isle of Capri (yes, you drive there, but not far) is The Blue Heron, expensive but very nice. The Olde Marco Inn has a nice atmosphere, but again, only so-so food and service.
Places like the Snook Inn, or the Little Bar at Goodland are fun and atmospheric, but average food.
I may get slammed for saying this, but the dining in Marco is like Marco itself. It is laid back, casual, and average. There is nothing very "high-end" about either Marco or its restaurants. It's a place to go for the beach, to relax, and to do nothing special.

I'm not going to slam you Patrick, but you recommended some nice places to eat, especially the Snook Inn & the Little Bar on Goodland. You may be streching it just a little bit. Cafe de Marco has great seafood as well as the Voyager at the Marriott. Kretch's also has some good seafood. Try Stan's, next door to the Little Bar for a great snapper sandwich. For some breakfast try Susie's or Breakfast Plus. The best tile to go to the Snook Inn is Friday or Saturday & visit the Stan's on Sundays.

Thanks for the info!
Troy: I've made a note of all of your suggestions. We'll be in Marco Thursday-Sunday, so we'll be able to go to the Snook Inn on Friday or Saturday night. Also, staying at the Hilton, so the Voyager restaurant will be right next door.
Per Patrick's description ~~That's the kind of people we are "casual & laid-back", so Marco sounds good for us.
Appreciate the responses! Kim,
Please let us know how your trip to Marco Island was. We will be visiting the end of the year and we are curious about the island. Restaurants? Hotel? We are laid back also so we feel this will be a great spot. Let us know how the Hilton and Marriott are. Thanks a lot and have a great time
