Best route Kill Devil Hills to Wilmington,NC?
 
Which would be the best route? More scenic vs faster highway drive. TIA.

Mapquest says 5 1/2 hours taking the common roads (64/13 W to 17 S) but the most scenic would be to take 12 S to the Ocracoke (free) ferry. You should make a reservation for either the Cedar Island Ferry or Swan Quarter ferry. From Swan Quarter: 264 W to 17 S. From Cedar Island: 70 W to 17S. Will take all day as the SQ or Ci ferries take over 2 hours--but it is beautiful.
