Best route from SLC to YNP and then back to SLC
 

HI. Any suggestions for scenic routes from Salt Lake City to YNP and then a different route back to SLC? We are flying round trip this summer to/from SLC. Our plans inlcude 4 nights at YNP (Lake Yellowstone Hotel), 3 nights in Jackson (Snake Lodge), and finally 1 night in SLC. I realize these are long drives. Any recommendations? Prefer different routes going to YNP and then coming back to SLC. Thanks, W

There is a beautiful canyon drive to the Park, and a faster way back. One of the prettiest drives we have ever taken.
If you are in SLC on a day the Mormon Tabernacle choir is practicing, try to go. An ethereal experience no matter your belief system.

I believe it must be Route 89 and maybe it is Logan Canyon. We have discussed this before on this board and don't speed around the lake--we got stopped and it wasn't for much!!

Thank you very much. Do you have any info on the drive back? Would like to take a different route if possible assuming it is also scenic.

Look at the map==interstate for a lot of it.
