Best Restaurants in Vegas
 

Any recommendations for the best restaurants in Vegas? Celebrating an anniversary and want to go all out for a few days.

There are so many good restaurants in Las Vegas now, that it is difficult to say which is "best." Where are you staying? All of the top hotels have excellent dining choices. Also, it would help if you could indicate what type of food you like or are looking for.

Best is hard.

Picasso in Bellagio is awesome though. I would go there in a heartbeat for a special occassion.

Sorry, I will be more specific: no seafood or steakhouses, going more for contemporary, asian, italian or southwest. Thanks.

The best in Vegas is no longer in dispute: <b>Restaurant Guy Savoy</b> is #1.

It's French, obviously, the only restaurant Guy owns outside of Paris (and his son Franck runs the Vegas outpost).

It's not inexpensive. Figure $400 per person.

Actually the highest rated restaurant is Joel Robuchon at the MGM.

He is the only 3 star Michelin chef in Vegas.

I've eaten at a number of the higher rated places, and thought Jo&euml;l Robuchon (MGM Grand) was the best in town, and perhaps in the country. The food was superb, and its presentation was far superior to any other place in Las Vegas. Be prepared for sticker shock, as the 16 course tasting menu runs about $350 per person. Add wine, tax, and tip, and you're way up there.

Second is Guy Savoy (Caesars Palace) - also superb, and nearly as expensive. It and Robuchon are the two restaurants in town operated by Michelin three star chefs.

Alex (Wynn Las Vegas) is nearly as good as Guy Savoy, and only about half the price.

Any thoughts on Fleur de Lys, Mesa Grill, Michael Mina or Rao's?

I've recently been to Robuchon's and Guy Savoy's (in the same weekend), and, while both were great, Guy Savoy exceeded Robuchon in every way.

(The same can be said comparing Guy Savoy in Paris and Robuchon's restaurant in NYC, which Bruni recently gave 3 stars.)

On the assumption that you don't want to spend $400 per person, even if you say that you want to go all out, some other choices for the types of cuisine you mention are:

Italian - Antonio's at the Rio

Asian - Empress Court at Caesar's Palace
808 at Caesar's Palace (pan-pacific, although fish does predominate on the menu)

Southwest - Mesa Grill at Caesar's Palace

I am sure there are many others but, since I usually stay at Caesar's, those are the restaurants I know best.

My wife and I felt Circo at the Bellagio was a great bargain at about $200pp for their seven course meal. Very romantic. Request a window seat for a great view of the fountain show.
