Best restaurants in San Francisco
Hello,

Would like to hear from you, what are the best restaurants that are reasonably priced.
Thanks a lot!
|
If you have outstanding food and wine in a great setting with superior service and it costs about $300 for 2, I'd call that reasonably priced. Would you? If I ate at a McDonald's and my quarter pounder was cold, the coke was flat and the fries greasy and the meal cost me $5.00, I'd say it was not reasonably priced. Would you?
Please tell us what you want to spend, what area of SF you want to stay in, and what kind of food you want.

Also, what catagory of food?? Seafood? Try Scoma's on the Wharf. Itialian? Try Michalangelo's in Russian Hill. Chinese? Try The Beetlenut on Union Street in Cow Hollow.
|
Go to www.chowhound.com . The San Francisco bulletin board there has hundreds, if not thousands, of eating recommendations and opinions.
|
Marty, would you by chance be a former magazine editor around the San Francisco area?
|
Kind of hard to imagine a magazine editor spelling category as catagory. And spelling like Itialian and Michalangelo's.
|
The Chronicle just published its top 100 restaurants about 2 weeks ago. Go to www.sfgate.com and see if it's there. Reasonably priced is up to you. SF is an expensive city, but it's also one of the top restaurant cities in the world. Chowhound is an interesting site.

Kuleto's is in Union Square and it is reasonably priced, great food, great location- one of my favorites whenever I travel to SF.
|
The Slanted Door for lunch (I think is less???). Try the Carmelized Shrimp (spicy) or Sea Bass...everything we have ordered was very good.

Mike Ty: It isn't possible to give you a usable answer. There are literally hundreds of good restaurants in SF at all price ranges. Sort of like asking for a reasonable hotel in California. An unlimited number.

What type of food, what price range, what area, etc?
