do you want a downtown restaurant,Shadyside,Mt` Washington?...what kind of food?..$$?..there are some great Mt Washington/view ones...or the Grand Concourse at Station Sq...pittsburgh.com has them by neighborhoods and reviews too...

I can make two suggestions in Shadyside: Pasta Piatto (Italian) or Casbah (Mediterranean w/extensive wine list), depending on your cuisine preferences. They're good, maybe not "great". I'm sure there will be those who debate these recommendations (open-minded Chuck seems like a likely candidate), but I hope you have a good experience, wherever you end up.
