Best places to vacation
 

My husband is taking me on a trip anywhere in U.S. for anniversary. Does anyone have any suggestions? He does have some heart troubles so that leaves out any hiking or anything that is to difficult.

Jill,<BR><BR>Congratulations! But give us some more info to go on. How long will your stay be? What time of year? Where have you already been? Do you prefer cities, natural scenery, crowds, quiet, fun? I am sure you'll get quite a few responses if you point us all in the right direction.

Sorry, will try to give more info on trip. We have 10 days, will be traveling June of 2002. Have been to Florida gulf (loved it), Hawaii (loved it). Just looking for ideas on trips people took and enjoyed.

Sorry, I just posted and saw you said United States! Oops. My favorite places: Washington DC area and tie in beaches in area, San Francisco and tie in wine country and Monterey, San Diego and tie in LA and/or Mexico, New Orleans (if you like to drink and see plantations), a fall trip to the NorthEast.

On the west coast, you have several great places to choose from: Vancouver/Seattle, Portland and the Oregon Coast, San Francisco and Napa Valley, the Central Coast of California (Cambria, Morro Bay), Laguna Beach of San Diego. I personally would suggest flying to San Francisco, spending a few nights there seeing the city. And then renting a car and driving down Highway 1 through Big Sur and Carmel. Then stay a few nights in Cambria. It's beautiful scenery and yet would be a relaxing vacation for you and your husband. Also plenty of great food and wine on this trip.

I would second the Seattle/Vancouver area for your trip. I took a wonderful trip to that area last year. I also love San Francisco. You could actually hit both areas in the same trip without too much difficulty. Even though you said the U.S., I would also suggest taking a look at Montreal and Quebec City in Canada.
