Best places to eat in Atlanta?
Looking for advice on the best restaurants in Atlanta?????????????
|
Head to Buckhead or Virginia Highlands. Don't stay in downtown. Do a search here and you'll find lots of great and specific posts about good Atlanta restaurants.
|
Where are you staying? Atlanta is not really a walking city like San Fransisco or New York. There are some good restaurants (2 five star), so you need to be specific. some of my favorites: Bones, Chops, Madison Grill. Also lots of ethnic foods available.
|

What are you looking for: ethnic, expensive, romantic, funky????

What about price?

What about location?

Young, old, staid, loud?
|
Registration or no registration, the fact remains that there is little of value or interest in Atlanta, Georgia. Olive Garden and Applebees aboud and nothing lasts long enough there to be considered anything but "trendy". You want great restaurants? Go to a real city. You want a Coke? Go to Atlanta.

The Buckhead area will be your best bet for good restaurants. I would suggest the Atlanta Fish Market. Wonderful seafood.
|
T Roll, how wrong you are. I received a wealth of great suggestions last year and had a super selection of really great restuarants to chose from. In fact we went through a period when there were a whole bunch of posts about Atlanta dining. I will try to bring up some suggestions from a search.

Atlanta has some wonderful restaurants (including 2 five star - only NY and CA have more). I like Pano and Pauls, Chops, Bones, Canoe, and Vickery's
|
Atlanta continues to have an identity crisis, always preoccupied with how many of this and that everybody else has.

By the way, what are the 5-star restaurants in Atlanta, The Varsity and what else?
|
T_Roll,

Thanks for confirming my worst fears: Registration doesn't keep morons off of this board. A city with 4.5 million people is GOING to have good restaurants.

I don't understand people like you, T_Roll. I was raised to believe if don't have anything positive or beneficial to offer, keep your damn mouth shut! I certainly doubt Betsy got anything out of your comments besides irritation.

And I can go ahead and answer your next post: No, I do NOT live in Atlanta. I don't even live in Georgia! So, just shut your negative mouth!

Betsy, I wish I could be more helpful to YOU concerning restaurants. Just do a search for Atlanta and you should find what you want. Have a good time!

Bachanalia, Joel's, the Dining Room at the Ritz in Buckhead, Tamarind, Blue Pointe, Canoe, Spice, Seegers, Kyma
|
TRoll - take your nasty comments elsewhere, they are not welcome here!
Betsy, for high end restaurants try Pano & Pauls, Blue Pointe, Bones, Chops. For midpriced restaurants try Sotto Sotto, Pura Vida, Loca Luna, Spice, Vickerys & One Midtown Kitchen (the decor is to die for). For inexpensive places check out Taqueria Del Sol, The Vortex, Daddy Dz, Fat Matt's Rib Shack. City Search has lots of ideas, check them out and enjoy yourself - we have a ton of fabulous places to eat here! Bon Appetite!

I live in Atlanta and their are alot of great restaurants. If you go to Buckhead theirs a place called Etzes. It's a market that has lots of italian food. MORE of a LUNCH place. For dinner i would suggest Maggianos. Theirs one in Buckhead and one in Perimeter. It has real good Italian food. If money is no object try La Grotta. It's Really Expensive but AWESOME. On some sundays the Ritz Carlton in Buckhead has brunch (which is good). hope this helps.

Baccnalia (spelling) and Houstons are two of my favorites. Also agree with the dining room at the Ritz. For sheer entertainment, I like Dantes Down Under but wouldn't consider it gourmet. For martinis, I like Dailey's downtown.
|

Bones and Chops, both in Buckhead, are consistently good. Bones may be a little too much of a stuffy, old boys' hangout. But, man, they have great steaks.

For fun, I'd check out Canoe (very romantic, on the river) or Floataway Cafe, in an idustrial section near Emory.
