Best place to stay for a skiing trip to Lake Tahoe

Looking at the Tahoe area for a ski trip, beginers and intermediate skiers, 4 adults total, in febuary. From what i can tell i will need a car. Some good choices for a hotel in the Tahoe area? Any ins and outs for first timers, pertaining to hotels and skiing in Tahoe area, like ski lift , gondola , car use , information would be appreciated. Thanks nick

If you stay near the gondola, you won't need a car. If you're flying into Reno, you can take the bus called Casino Express. We've stayed at the Forest Inn Suites--condos that aren't terribly fancy, but nice enough. They're a block from the gondola.

You have a few options. Heavenly is on the lake and on the CA-NV border, which offers more entertainment at night. Squaw has a hotel which is practically ski in/ski out. Best for beginning/intermediate skiers would be Northstar or Sugar Bowl, both of which have accomodations right by the ski slope. Their web sites should offer more information.

I'm not sure why you posted this same question twice, just 20 minutes apart. As a result some of us have answered your other thread instead of this one. If you have problems finding your previous posts, all you have to do is click on your screen name next to the "welcome" at the top of this page and it will bring them all up.
