Best NYC Happy Hours
Would appreciate suggestions for best happy hours in NYC.
Thanks for your help! |
I always recommend Gino on Lexington for Itallian, and for good old fashioned, old movie-style bar. Nice people to share their company with you. Nice employees. Think....old fashioned delicious Itallian.
Google it. |
Hard to believe only one person in Fodors partakes!:D Well, thanks roslaire, glad to know at least one other Fodorite indulges!

artlover, you'll get more responses if you select "new york" when posting questions. I usually search for NY posts and yours don't come up.
I guess I'd start by asking what you define as "best"? Are you looking for cheapest drinks, free food, inexpensive food? Here's a list from NY Magazine http://nymag.com/urban/guides/nyonth...sures/bars.htm I came across the happy hour at McCormick & Schmick's (a nat'l chain) by accident. The drinks are cheap and they sell lots of good bar type food for $1-2/plate. I saw lots of people making a dinner meal out of multiple plates. El Cantinero (Mexican) in the village is good fun with free food. |
Whoops, I was wrong. This one is under NY. :-]

mclaurie,
Thanks for the link--I'm passing it on. I mean "cheap" as in inexpensive drinks and food! The article seems to be right on! (This is how I was able to eat in grad school and DD has just started law school there so I guess I'm passing on the "family tradition"!:D) |
Verlaine in the LES - $4 exotic martinis/cocktails until 10 PM!!!
Dove in the W. Village also has good cocktails til 8pm. And great websites from free/cheap drinks in NYC: myopenbar.com drinkdeal.com SOBs also has 2 for 1 appetizers and drinks, at least on their salsa dance nights. |
