Best month to go

My family is planning our first trip to Hawaii. I am a teacher, so my availability for travel is somewhat limited. Most places have some months that are busier with touists and usually pricier. What months are best to visit Hawaii? We will at least start with Oahu. What part of the island is best to stay?

As a teacher, don't you place a little value on RESEARCH? All of your very general questions are answered within these threads, and you really should search around a bit.

I would also ask for "favorites" (and the reason why) over "the best", as the best might mean different things according to one's tastes. I really do try to be helpful in this forum, but your questions look like you've failed to do YOUR homework, teacher.

We went at spring break for 1 week - for us that is mid-March. It worked out very well.

One reason I cringed this board is poster like the previous. Just do your best to ignore it.

While I may not agree with the tone of rb's email, I can agree with the sentiment. Hawaii is talked about on this board more than any other desitination. If you type "hawaii" in the search box, you'll find hundreds, (if not more) posts on all types of hawaii questions.

And while I may not condone it, if you really want more answers, you might want to post the question "Best month to go to Hawaii"....

"Julie_C", if you click on my name you'll find that I generally offer some pretty solid advice, as you do too, "Julie". And yes, I did jump on "steach311"

I have been involved in devloping & presenting training courses and consider steach as having come to class unprepared and wanting the answer key.

S/he will find some GREAT tips & suggestions reading thru previous postings, but shouldn't expect to be "spoon fed". The success of a good vacation is proportional to the effort made preparing for it.

steach,
In our planning I found March to be a cheap month for travel-many pkg deals available for this month. Also Sept.-Nov.looks good-less tourists. Since school is in session these months, maybe you could consider a Thanksgiving holiday. You'll already be off some that week, won't you?
Be sure to check hotels at expedia-you can see pictures and info on them all there without actually booking anything. Another suggestion:get on all the hawaii travel email lists you can.
