Can't go wrong with the South Coast Plaza in Costa Mesa, California.

Kukui Grove on Kauai. Nothing to rave about but "location, location, location"! ;-)
Kal

Not really a mall in the true sense but Harmond(sp) Commons just outside of NYC - great, great place for shopping and bargains - wonderful in the summer when the weather is hot and you get to enjoy the lovely surroundings as well as the shopping.

Fashion Island in Newport Beach, CA.

King of Prussia Mall near Philadelphia.

Sandy - if you haven't been there yet, check out Jersey Gardens outlet mall (13A off the Turnpike - near Ikea). My last trip there I spent over 6 hours shopping. Though I HATE shopping, I found so many bargains that I couldn't stop. I didn't even make it through the whole place in 6 hours.

Shopper - do you mean Woodbury Commons in Harriman, NY? I was just there this past weekend. It was so packed with people on Sunday that it was a miserable experience. It took an hour to get out of the parking lot.

Tysons Corner, 300 stores, mostly upscale, great people watching in very diverse area.

Shopper Nov 13th, 2002 09:25 AM

Suzanne:yes I meant Woodbury Commons - obviously very far off with the name in my last post. Pity your experience was not a good one but twice (during the summer mind you) and thought it was an excellent shopping experience.

King of Prussia, PA There are 2 sections, the Plaza and the Court. The Plaza was renovated a couple of years ago and it is fabulous. Every department store is there with lots of diversity. Upscale stores and the norm!

Tysons Corner near DC or Lenox Square in Atlanta.

Sandy Nov 13th, 2002 10:49 AM

Thank you for these wonderful responses! Keep em coming!
I hear Franklin Mills outlet Mall is great too, near Philly... Is that near King of Prussia mall????

mm Nov 13th, 2002 10:59 AM

The Del Amo mall in Torrance, CA is supposed to be the second largest outside of the Mall of America.

All the majors and tons of other stores with a pretty good food court.

MM

It might be big, but the Del Amo mall is not the best.

Another vote for South Coast Plaza.

I avoid Franklin Mills at all cost especially on weekends. Bus loads of people every day, it gets Way too crowded, tons of teenagers just hanging out and not shopping, a bit of riff/raff and a gazillion baby strollers. I've been there 3 times and never found any good deals! It's about 45 min. from King of Prussia Mall.

Mall of Georgia is huge with every store you could hope for. Also, try Phipps Plaza or Lenox Square in Atlanta. King St. in Charleston SC, although not a mall, has great shopping....Saks 5th Ave., etc.

Beary Nov 13th, 2002 11:41 AM

Forgot about King Street in Charleston. Go to Rob Ellis shoes. Never found a better one.

Sawgrass Mills near Ft. Lauderdale Florida. I shopped till I dropped, plus I got a pedicure for 10 bucks....

I love Fashion Valley Mall in San Diego, CA. Great stores and the food court is even upscale! It is outdoors so you can soak up the CA sun, even in December!
