Best LV Restaurant With a View

Hi,
I am planning a romantic dinner with my fiance in Las Vegas & wanted to know which of the following you would recommend in terms of atmosphere, food quality and value: 1) Eiffel Tower 2)Top of the World; or 3) Mon Ami Gabi. Please advise if there is another restaurant that you would put at the top of your list.

Depends on how picky you are about food and service. None of the 3 gets consistent rave reviews for food quality, usually good but not great. Service is llay good at MAG, but it's also a more casual restaurant than TOTW and ET.

The view at TOTW is, of course, better than any other restaurant in LV. MAG is street level.
In general you'll find that restaurants at the top of tall buildings are selling their views more than relying on the quality of their food.
Of the three I'd choose....one of the better restaurants at Bellagio (Circo, Le Cirque, Prime, Picasso etc depending on type of cuisine I wanted).

We had dinner at the Eiffel Tower the day we got married. I had emailed them that it was a special occasion and we were seated at a great window table right across from the Bellagio fountains. My wife, who is a country girl carnivore, said her filet was the best she has ever had. I thought the food was excellent. Great wine list and very helpful sommelier. The one thing that surprised me was how loud the restaurant was. Still, I highly recommend it.

Just came back from Vegas and had Thanksgiving dinner at the Eiffel Tower restaurant; slipped a $10 tip and asked for a table overlooking the Bellagio fountains- had the best table and great view. Dinner was great and since I am a dessert person- the Eiffel chocolate plate was the best- you have 5 different chocolaty yummies on a plate-one was a solid white chocolate shaped like the Eiffel tower, another was a chocolate cylinder filled w/mouse at the bottom and fresh raspberries at the top, the others I can't very well describe except they were presented very well and tasted great-we've tried different gourmet restaurants and this is one of the best.
Highly recommended- pricey by worth it!

Not Mon Ami Gabi! We had dinner there last Monday and it was mediocre at best. Hard to have a romantic dinner for two with a screaming baby at the table behind you.
The food was so-so, the waiter was very nice, the view is just of the Strip and Fountains.
Voodoo Lounge in the Rio has the best view as far as being high up, it is on the 61st (I thinnk) floor of the hotel, the food is good, atmosphere is party-ish and can be noisy.
We enjoy Circo in the Bellagio-view is right on the lake so you see the Fountain show, the restaurant is beautiful and they go all out to make you feel comfortable..the food is excellent. I think it is one of the more romantic restaurants, as it is quiet.
Prime was good too, a very beautiful room, there was a small party of people celebrating a wedding near us, it was quite festive and happy. Again, the view is the Fountains.

Top of the World is great, both the food and the view. Try and get a reservation just before sunset. It will be unforgettable.

Hey wayne,

I would actually also recommend Circo in the Bellagio. Ate there on Saturday nite and it was delicious. Views of the fountains were great!

And Scarlett, sorry you didn't have a good experience at Mon Ami Gabi. My wife and I ate lunch there on Friday (based basically on your glowing recommendation as we did with Circo) and thoroughly enjoyed it. Did you eat inside or out?

Hi Doug!
We have eaten at Mon Ami Gabi at least a dozen times, but always brunch or lunch. I usually have salads or omelettes and fries.
This was a first for dinner, inside, by the windows, looking the the Fountains.
The dinner was so so, nothing to praise .. service was slow, and the screaming baby was terrible. No one could hear anything but that screaming, the parents just kept eating, the father got up and walked around the restaurant!! to shush the baby, only spreading the noise farther
I understand babies cry, But I also understand they don't get such a kick out of sitting in a restaurant while their parents eat when they should be asleep in a quiet room.
So that is my whine for the day-
What were the other restaurants you went to? Did you have a good time?
We had a great time!!
How did you like your hotel?
S~

PS to Doug~
We ate in Circo on Wednesday and the food and wine were perfect. The waiter was excellent. We had a table facing the windows. What did you have?
For dessert I asked for a chocolate fondant or something like that and when it arrived it had a candle and Happy Anniversary written in the sauce!
The lady next to us asked if it was a birthday or anniversary, the waiter brought us a sparkling wine (Muscat) and I said our anniversary. She asked how many years, I said 100.
So she and some other people at another table all toasted us LOL~ I do look good for someone married 100 years

Hey Scarlett,

Had the steak frites at MAG and as my wife can attest to, couldn't get the smile off my face....thought it was delicious!

As to other places we dined:
Thurs. (Thanksgiving) - didn't get to the Bellagio until around 2 and after checking in and the like, were starved so ate a late lunch/early dinner at the Cafe Bellagio. Nothing fancy...was fine.
Fri. - MAG for lunch; restaurant I can't remember the name of (begins with "B") in Caesar's Forum Shops for dinner. Was only average but didn't really expect more.
Sat. - deli sandwiches in NY-NY for lunch; Circo for dinner.
Sun. - sandwiches again for lunch as watched a little football in the sports book; Bellagio Buffet (had to try it) for dinner; was very good, but we got there pretty late (after 9) so couldn't take full advantage of all the food.

As far as the rest of the trip, it was great. My wife and I had a wonderful time.
- Bellagio was even better than anticipated. Had a great room overlooking the fountains, listening to many a show's broadcast from there. And the service was top-notch. Walking in and out of almost all the strip hotels you can really tell and feel the difference between the Bellagio and most of the other hotels. (To everyone: if you can afford it, and it wasn't cheap this holiday weekend, I'd highly recommend it!)
- saw Celine Dion and O and really enjoyed both shows. Well worth the money (IMHO).
- and the icing on the cake is that we won a little money. Always a good thing!

And that's terrible what happened to you guys at MAG with the baby. I'm usually very tolerant of crying kids but that was ridiculous. I would have done a little more than whine if I was there and that happened. Did you complain at all?

So glad you enjoyed yourselves!
The waiter was apologising, people were grumbling, it would have been overkill if I had said anything more than shooting evil looks at them until they left!
We ate at MAG Mon night.
Pinot Brasserie Tues night, Fab!
Circo - Wed...Great as always
Thanksgiving was Onda-dissapointing, tasteless food!
Prime - Friday night, FAB again!
Lunch one day at Olives, another at the Cafe in Bellagio..wow, big and busy, no?
Had lots of cappucino and biscotti at the Palio..
Did you get to see the Bellagio Museum? THat was very nice.
One Really unpleasant experience, that I guess I should tell about:
We like Spago for lunch. The salads are always good, we sit in the booths in the back so it is quiet and comfortable and yet good for people watching.
Tues we had lunch there as we were doing some Christmas shopping at the Forum shops. Everything was great.
Thursday we had to go back to the Forum shops for some more goodies, so decided to lunch at Spago again. Sitting in our fav booth, I was sipping my ice tea and chattering away to my husband when he reached across the table and flicked something on the table by my arm.
I looked but it was gone, but then he started to stand up. I said What was that? and he said ... a Cockroach...
Needless to say, I jumped out of that booth and was practically hopping around, brushing my clothes, terrified the damn thing was on me. The waiter and manager rushed over, probably thinking I spilled my tea or something.
My husband told them what happened and they asked if we wanted to sit somewhere else , we said NO..they apologized profusely, but I can only say that as clean as that place looks, it makes me sick to think that roaches are able to make it out of the kitchen and onto the tables
SO that is the one and only bad thing about our trip.

We too managed to win some ... isn't it fun

I dunno, I would have put up more of a stink....but that's just me. Obviously, there were no other tables to move you guys?

Cafe Bellagio was a bit crowded I guess....didn't notice much as I was a little distracted watching people at the pool freeze their little fannies off in the 55 degree temp. Couldn't believe they were out there.

That sucks about Spago, too. To have that ruin your dining experience....and that's not a cheap restaurant, obviously.

Nah, didn't get to the museum....too busy winning $ And yes, it's mighty fun!

There's no such thing as a lone roach in a restaurant dining room. If one made it out of the kitchen, many more followed. Best just to leave.

Leona , that is exactly what I was thinking! When they asked if we wanted another table, I wanted to ask if he was kidding??
The only other time that has ever happened to us was in a small Indian Restaurant in NYC and the Times and written about how wonderful it was, they forgot the part about the roaches walking on the walls! shudder~

Scarlett, I bet Wayne, doesn't want to eat anywhere in Vegas now ;-) There are not many things more repulsive than roaches("Palmetto Bugs here in SW FLA). I think you were very civilized about the whole thing. At least the Eiffel Tower is far from the sreet level ;-). Judy

LOL, Judy, I thought of that after posting, poor Wayne! But we eat every day in a different place and there were no bugs in sight.
Now Judy, tell me about Palmettos, you know, I am moving South and growing up in NC, I do not remember a palmetto, what about Florida? Should I bring a gun

Scarlett: we call roaches palmetto bugs, because the are so big, they can carry a palmetto plant on their backs! ;-) Sorry Fla tourist board, but you know it is true! "The Terminator" should adequately do the job ;-) Judy

I'll give my vote for Circo at Bellagio for a great romantic restaurant. The fountains, the music, ahhh, it's lovely! Carol
