Remember the Japanese are probably the largest community visiting Hawaii (hense the reason they do not distquish smoking/nonsmoking) and I am sorry ot say the smoke like chimneys. Chances are pretty high that you will get a room that smells like an ash tray. This has always been my experience in Hawaii when non-smoking was not available. Most recently this happened to me a the Royal Hawaiian, we are taking discolored wallpaper and stench.
