Best location hotel in NYC with 5 month old, outside restaurant suggestions
This is baby 4, not our first rodeo,We usually stay at the omni, but also were looking at doubletree suites in times square, wanted something a bit cheaper in september, we usually do daniel and la grenouille, and grammercy tavern, but can't with baby, any good outside recs to eat at that we can sit outside, boathouse is a thought, no chains, location for hotel? all ideas are helpful, thanks, ellen, was thinking artesinal, or les halles, or balthazar, thanks for the help! what about the the iroquis?

Well, Artisanal is so noisy they'd never notice a baby.

I don't think it's about location but maybe space. Wouldn't a 1 bedroom suite with a small kitchen be convenient? Wouldn't do Times Square though. Blakelyhotelny.com has some 1 bedroom suites. Or maybe Trump International close to Central Park. The Alex, the Kimberly and the San Carlos are nice midtown east hotels with 1 bedroom suites. (Aside from the kitchen convenience, the extra space makes it easier to put baby down to sleep). Beaconhotel.com on the upper west side, a neighborhood loaded with kids, is another idea.
As for restaurants, if the baby can sit still long enough and you're willing to eat early, you can probably go anywhere you want. Here's a recent article with some great restaurant suggestions. I'd put Cafe Bolulud at the top of the list. http://www.nytimes.com/2010/05/09/ny...9toddlers.html |
I would look for a hotel in one of the more residential areas. Sidewalks tend to be crowded, using a sroller is easier, there are more restaurants that are baby friendly - esp if you eat earlier. Also you are more likly to be near a park or some baby-friednly outdoors space.
I would go for either he upper west side or the village/est village rather than midtown. |
What are you doing with the other 3 children?
