Best Jersey Beach for a day trip

What's the best beach in Jersey for a day trip to Philadelphia. With relatively inexpensive beach tags, parking options, and food nearby. I used to go to Margate alot, but just wante to hear some more reccomendations.

I like Island Beach State Park for day trips as it's clean, quiet, and has concessions/restrooms/showers right near the beach.

It's probably a little far from Philly, since it's on the southern tip of the northern barrier island that runs from Point Pleasant South.

Beach tags will run you $7-8 per person anywhere on Long Beach Island.

Sorry I can't be of more help, as my trips are from the North, not from Philly area.

You might want to consider Pt. Pleasant Beach to the North off of Rt 195, or Ocean City to the South off of the Atlantic City Parkway. I would prefer Pt. Pleasent. ((b))

Ocean City. Family-friendly and a great boardwalk.....

Ocean City is also super-convenient from Philly, since you can get there easily from the Atlantic City Expressway. Most of the other beaches involve winding through back roads in the Pines.
