Best Japanese and Seafood Restaurant in Vegas

Going to see Seinfeld with client and his wife in August. Staying at Ceasars. Only two nights and need two restaurant suggestions. They prefer Japanese and Seafood. Food quality, Amosphere and Ambience a must.

Forum-Please help.

Best,

Frank

"Japanese" covers a wide range of cuisines. For sushi, Okada (Wynn Las Vegas) is the best. Okada also has excellent non-sushi items, and is one of the few places in Las Vegas (perhaps the only place) to offer robatayaki (a kind of grilling) selections. The atmosphere is great, with a view of one of Wynn's waterfalls. Figure $100 per person, although it can vary wildly depending on just what you order - especially drinks.

The best seafood is also at Wynn. Bartolotta sounds like an Italian restaurant - which it is. However, its specialty is seafood flown in daily from the Mediterranean. Order whole fresh fish, simply prepared, and you can't go wrong. The atmosphere is relaxed and fairly quiet. Prices are high; with wine, tax, and tip you could easily spend $150 per person.

If Bartolotta doesn't appeal, Michael Mina (Bellagio) has very good seafood, although I find the atmosphere a bit noisy.

I also love Tsunami at the Venetian. I knew I stumbled on a good place when I noticed the group of 7 Japanese guys sitting at the sushi bar. They turned out to be a band and from Tokyo. All agreed the food was really great.

There's a great little fish house in The District at Green Valley Ranch called King's Fish House, a chain out of California, I think. Fun, casual but classy atmosphere. But that's only good if you want to go off of the strip. I've heard that Okada is overrated, but don't know from personal experience. Tsunami is a fun place and it's right near the gondolas at the Venetian.
