Best Italian restaurant in Providence or Warwick
My family and I will be visiting next week, and hope someone can recommend a good (great)Italian restaurant. Kids are ages 12 and 8. We're staying in Warwick, but I understand there are some great ones in the Federal Hill area of Providence too.
Also, I've been trying to find out some information about the Herreshoff Marine Museum. Anyone know if there's a web site?
Thanks.

Sharon,
Federal Hill is famous for their Italian restaurants. One of the best is called Cassarino's. In Warwick, you can find Conte's restaurant, and a restaurant called Marchetti's is in Cranston. oso.com should help. Enjoy your visit to RI!

Try Caserta's Pizza while on Federal Hill. Best pizza anywhere.

The Post Office Cafe in East Greenwich ( just a few minutes from Warwick) is excellent.

Cassarino's was very good, not too expensive ($50 couple)--very reliable
old favorites

I just typed in "Herreshoff Marine Museum" into Google and the first result listed was
http://www.herreshoff.org/

Did you ever get to the Herreshoff Museum? Interested in hearing feedback. Thanks.

As mentioned there are a lot of excellent Italian restaurants to choose from. One of the best is called Michael's Kitchen in Cranston. Low on atmosphere but tremendous food. Very inexpensive.

More upscale are Agora and Il Forno. Il Forno is, or was, considered one of the best in the world. What I hear now is that the hype exceeds the return.

Check out www.phantomgourmet.com and do a search for restaurants in RI. You;ll find lots of info, including directions.

MM
