You can't go wrong with Assiago, Lush Life or Il Bistro. Another hidden treasure in Pioneer Square is Carmines. Yum!

Im surprised noone reccommended the Poor Italian Cafe, across from the Commodore hotel. It is superb and reasonably priced. The area is kind of quirky--just east of pike place, but it adds to the place. p.s. Theres a great little bar attached to the restaurant--same owners I think.

My vote would be Al Boccalino near Pioneer Sq. Not big or glitzy but very good food (Antipastos are great) and quite friendly.

I prefer Il Bistro, and Poor Italian Cafe.

Don't waste your time with Assagio. When it first opened, it was great. Subsequent meals have been mediocre AT BEST.
