Best island - Maui or Kauai???
Hi everyone!
My fiance and I have been doing a lot of research on Maui and Kauai... We're planning a 10-day honeymoon (5 nights in Maui and 4 in Kauai). However, recently we started thinking we might just want to do Maui, and split up our time between Kannapali and Wailea (so we can do both beaches and have more time to fully explore Maui).
So... are there any of you out there who agree with our new plan (just do Maui - relax and really get to know it)...or, do you think we're missing out by not squeezing Kauai in???
Love to hear from you!

Paris vs Rome
squeeze the toothpaste vs roll it up
Ford vs Chevy
Democrat vs Republican
NYC vs LA
Kauai vs Maui is the same debate.
Which you'd like better depends on your taste. I'd stay at each, many people here will say pick one and stick with it.
A lot of help, huh?

Hi Alex,
I live in Honolulu but I worked on Maui for a bit and go over there sometimes.
I'm not that crazy about it and I'm not really even sure why. The beaches are better than Kauai, but Kauai, even though it's getting screwed up, is still the least screwed up island. So I'd definitely go to both.
You may even want to consider spending a night in Honolulu, it's a lot more fun here than most people realize--some pretty unique Japanese Izakaya restaurants that don't exist much on the mainland (Izakaya Nonbei, Imanas, Tokuri Tei, Senba's) and some good Korean (Sorabol).
Congratualations on the marriage!
