best hotel to stay at with a 5 year old girl...

Is the Circus Circus to grungy? We enjoy classy and chic... We are going to stay two nights on the way to Disneyland,

Circus Circus and "classy and chic" are oxymorons!

I think you can do better than Circus Circus. Even Excalibur would be superior.

Circus Circus is the epitome of tacky and tawdy.

You might look at MGM - which has the lions to look at. What time of year are you going - will the pool matter. In that case I would check on who has the best kid's pool.

Excalibur is better than Circus Circus, and still nowhere near "classy and chic"!

Perhaps if you give your budget and when the trip will be, some more specific suggestions can be made?

The Four Seasons is family friendly if it fits your budget. Let them know in advance that you have a small child.

The Fours Season is quite a leap from Circus, Circus. I still think OP needs to give more info, otherwise all the suggestions will be less than useful.

MGM has the Lion cubs and the Rainforest cafe, but some of the rooms are a long long walk (half a mile?) from the entrance/exits.

It depends on what you plan to see and do in Las Vegas. There will be LOTS of walking involved and afterwards, you don't want to enter your hotel just to have another 15 minutes to walk. With a 5 year old you might look at the Flamingo, with the wildlife out by the pool, mini-penguins, flamingoes etc. But if it's a weekend the pool area is crazy-full of party people and loud DJ music so I'd avoid.

Thank you, budget is not an issue. Would the Venitian be a good choice?

The MGM Grand would be a class up from the Excalibur and it does have a lot of wonderful stuff for kids. We went there when it first opened and they were so eager to please, being their grand opening, that the kids came back with a vanload of stuffed animals and other toys which the MGM was giving away at the various kiddie games.

The Luxor, with its Egyptian theme, may be an alternate - but the MGM Grand would still be first choice for me with kids.

The Venetian, although it has an indoor canal, IMHO, is really more for adults.

Just all depends on the age of your kids.
