Best Hotel Pool
 

Can anyone recommend a fun, water-park type hotel pool (anywhere in the US)similar to those at the Hyatt Gainey Ranch in Scottsdale, the Grand Cypress in Orlando, or the Grand Wailea in Maui? I've "viewed" these on the www, would like to actually visit one with my family and wonder if anyone knows of others. Thanks for your ideas.

Hilton Squaw Peak in Phoenix. Lazy River, large water slide, and very reasonable rates compared to the others you mentioned. My kids loved it!!

In Phoenix, The Phoenician's pools are the prettiest I've seen. Not as unique as Gainey Ranch, though. <BR> <BR>In Las Vegas, Mandalay Bay is certainly the best pool area. The local newspaper editors picked the Hard Rock as their favorite, partly for the atmosphere, but readers always pick Mandalay Bay. <BR> <BR>Not in the US but I believe I've read that the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas has the biggest resort pool system in the world. If you live in the eastern US, packages can be pretty cheap. <BR>

Dear Jeannine and Cara -- Thanks for your input. I'll keep both locations in mind when we head West (perhaps in the spring when it's under 100 degrees!) <BR> <BR>We've decided to head for the Grand Cypress in Orlando in mid-September -- have reasonable rate ... and the fun pool!

I was wondering about the new pool/waterpark area at the Fontainebleau in Miami - has anyone seen it yet? It was supposed to be completed in July. It sounds fantastic but I haven't seen a review of it yet. Has anyone been there since it opened?

Unless they COMPLETELY rehabbed the FB, curious, the best pool atmosphere in FL couldn't convince me to stay there. <BR>Just an aging, soulless, convention hotel. So many superior options in the area.

I agree Jake, stayed there w/hubby on a bus. trip BUT it is supposed to be completely redone and would be an excellent option for families with kids who love the water (as so mine)!

Kathie, <BR> <BR>If you are going to Orlando, why don't you try the two Disney water parks, Blizzard Beach and Typhoon Lagoon, both are great, Typhoon has a huge wave that is great fun, also various slides, water rafts etc and you can snokel across a lagoon with sharks in, Blizzard beach looks like a ski resort and has a great atmosphere, loads of slides, water shutes etc and the most frightening water slide called Summit Plummit, I think it costs about $20 for the day. I love both and we always take a couple of days out of our holiday to go both.

FYI - You've all given great information on these pools, I love a great pool & activities as well. Please note - I recently saw a report, I think on Dateline or that absolutely horrified me ! The dangers of un- <BR>covered water filtration systems. They cited one incident where a young child was "stuck" on the uncovered drain and was dis-emboweled! Another incident occurred at the Atlantis (which I thought looked magnificent)but a young teenager was sucked into a huge uncovered drain - These are horrifiying stories, but really make me aware the next time we go to a public pool!
