Why is this tagged California?

It will all depend on your tastes in food. Here are a couple of examples.

There is one 3* Michelin Restaurant in Vegas, Joël Robuchon.

Do you want a hotel with a casino or do you prefer a hotel with no casino?

We stayed at The Signature, which is non-smoking, non-casino hotel right next to MGM Grand. We really liked it.

Not sure what kind of deals for NYE, but check here, often:

I cannot recommend the Mandarin Oriental highly enough.

Thanks for your replies.
Sorry It should being tagged as Nevada.
Ladie´s are looking for very good accomodations and very nice ambience. Could be with casino, it´s not a problem.

Do you think that Joel Robouchon will be the place in NYE, not only because of the excellent meal, also if it will be the place or is there any other restaurant suggestion?

My wife and I spent two nights at the Mandarin for New Years. We has dinner at Mastros at Crystals. Afterwards we walked down the strip to Flamingo and soaked up the New Years Eve atmosphere. Watched the fountains and then walked back. When we entered the lower lobby of the Mandarin we showed our key to confirm we were guests of the hotel and then were given wrist bands. When we arrived at the lobby on 23 it had been transformed with a dance floor and band playing. I'm not sure what the cost of drinks were because we don't drink. The bar sells tables (book early). At midnight we went into the bar and were able to get a great view of the fireworks. The whole thing is quite expensive, especially if you get a table in the bar. So even though the rooms were expensive the party was very nice. If I were to do it again I would stay at the Mandarin.
