Best Hotel for First Night Boston
 

Hello! Can you please tell me some hotels convenient for the First Night Boston celebration? I have stayed in the Back Bay area before, but though staying somewhere by the Harbor would be nice. Please Advise. Thanks!

Near the waterfront would be good.. you could probably see the laser show at City Hall and the fireworks from your hotel.. after walking from the Boston Common and seeing the First Night Parade and ice sculptures....

2 nice hotels on the waterfront are the Boston Harbor Hotel and the Marriot Long Wharf. I'd get your accomodations straightend out ASAP as this is a very popular event. You may want to consider staying in the Back Bay as that is where the most concentration of events seems to be. Good luck, dress warm, and have fun!!!

The Long Wharf has great location -- but the rooms are small and ordinary -- IMHO NOT worth the $200+ per night.

Diane, First Night happens all over Boston. They have a website (www.firstnight.org) and you can see that wherever you stay, be it Back Bay or the Harbor, will be near something. The Haynes Auditorium at the Prudential center, which is attached to the Sheraton, is the site of a lot of activity, and the Marriot Copley Place and the Westin are all attached via walkways/Malls to it. I always cut through them on First Night to stay warm. <BR> <BR>If you buy the First Night button you then have admission to the Haynes, as well as to hundreds of other indoor concerts, presentations, etc. The parade is free, as are the ice sculptures, fire works, etc. But, I'd have to say that unless you want to watch the fireworks from your hotel room, any hotel in Boston would be a convenient one to some part of First Night's activities. Just be prepared to dress warm and do lots of walking. <BR> <BR>I've now looked briefly at their website and they actually have an official Firstnight hotel with a package deal which you may want to check out. They've also added 7pm fireworks over the Boston Common for the little kids (and adults) who don't want to go to the Harbor at midnight. Have a great time, whatever you decide.
