What is the weather like in Kona in November?

We're trying to plan a trip to Hawaii, and having trouble fitting it in. It looks like November is our best bet, but good weather (low chance of rain and high winds) is a must. What is Kona like in November?

South Kona is more exposed to winter weather patterns and VOG, but north Kona less so. Your safest bet is to choose a place along the Kohala Coast, where the weather is the most reliably good in all of Hawaii.

I've been in November and the weather was perect. We stayed on the Kohala Coast (Waikoloa Beach Resort area) and it was sunny, hot, and dry almost every day. It rained on and off in Hilo when we visited that side for a day. It's also much cooler up in Waimea and it was a welcome respite from the heat!

I've also been in June and it was honestly very similar weather. I didn't notice much vog either way but the last time we went to the Big Island was 2.5 years ago.

We've been twice in November, at Thanksgiving and stayed on the Kohala coast both times and weather was perfect. Prices tend to go up in December so it's a great time to go.

We went to Kona in November many years ago and it was lovely. We spent Thanksgiving there. I cherish the memory.

What josephrichie99 said. October is also usually great, right after the Ironman marathon (Oct. 10th this year). Steer clear of the few weeks before the event.

Due to crowds and seasonal/winter beach erosion, early fall is the best time to go.
