best driving route Sedona, AZ. to Glenwood Springs, CO.
Hi, what is the best drive from Sedona to Glenwood Springs?
It will be at the end of our trip so probably looking for shortest time but open to all suggestions.
the following is the link from Google Maps "get directions" and wondering if that is the way to go.

Absolutely the most scenic, beautiful and car-free way to go. High spot of your trip will be driving across Monument Valley and north. Some will advise you to stick to the interstates. I would advise taking the route shown for the reasons I have given. Find some way to make this trip so that you will not be in a rush. It's that beautiful. Whatever you do, avoid Denver like a plague. For a major city and a state capital, it has the worst traffic imaginable. I know some will advise you to go via Albuquerque, Raton Pass, Colorado Springs, Denver, and then backtrack to Glenwood Springs. NO, no, no, no.

USNR, thanks for your reply. Definitely will NOT head to Glenwood via Denver.
Boulder, CO is our start and end point. We are flying to CO. from CT. and borrowing a friends's tent camping gear etc. for a car camping trip.
Most of our time will be at Lo Lo Mai campground in Page Springs, AZ. outside of Sedona.
My friend and I spent 2 weeks there in 2001 and just loved it. This time I'm taking my husband so he can see how beautiful Sedona and environs are.

From Moab, Utah take scenic Hwy 128 to Cisco and connect up with I-70 there. This will rival the drive past Monument Valley!

If you have a little time, you should explore Arches and Canyonlands National Park from Moab. If you think Sedona is special...your mind will be blown away here!

Thanks utahtea for your reply
Several years ago my husband and I spent a wonderful 2 weeks in the National Parks of southern Utah.
this morning I am remembering the day we hiked the Confluence Trail in Canyonlands..........
I have since camped in Moab at the Slickrock Campground with my Colorado girlfriend and revisited Arches and Canyonlands.
