Best Downtown Knoxville Hotel
My husband and I are heading to Knoxville for a concert in late February. While we are aware we will need to drive to the stadium where the concert is, the rest of the time we would like to park the car and walk around the city a bit to Market Square and other areas...can someone or several please help me out? Which is the best hotel with regards to what we are looking for? The Hilton on Church? The Holiday Inn Select? The Crowne Plaza? Also, let me know if there is one we should stay away from. Regards and Happy Holidays!

We have stayed at the Hilton on Church several times, including a few weeks ago. The hotel has been renovated, and we were very satisfied. The rooms are nice, the hotel is in a good location, there is a Starbucks in the lobby, a couple of restaurants, and everything was clean. Have fun!

There's a very nice Marriott right overlooking the Tennessee River. We've stayed there and enjoyed it very much, especially the open feeling inside, where there is a cavernous space in the middle of the hotel with the rooms all around the outside.

There is a new hotel that is in between UT campus and downtown called the Cumberland House Hotel. Peyton Manning is a part owner in the hotel. I know someone who stayed there that said it was nice. Here is the website: http://www.cumberlandhousehotel.com/
If you don't stay there, I would say the Hilton or the Marriott are the nicest hotels downtown. If you want to walk to Market Square, etc., you will need to stay at the Hilton instead of the Marriott.
