BEST DISNEY CHARACTER MEAL?
Would love to hear from people who have been to a few of these. Which was your favorite and why? Or are they all the same?

My favorite character meals are with Winnie the Pooh and friends at Crystal Palace in the Magic Kingdom and Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary. I like Crystal Palace just because I am a Pooh fiend. The problem with character meal is that because it is so popular, the characters don't get to spend that much time with the guests. Pooh doesn't even come around to the tables. I think Chef Mickey's is great because of the time the characters spend with the guests, even the adults without kids. At many meals we have been to, characters have just breezed by tables without kids, or just stopped by as an obligation. At Chef Mickey's my husband and I actually have fun. Ok, so maybe we are a bit weird.

Have been to just about all of them? They do differ. I would have to say my favorite is at the Floridian, mostly because of the different characters. Not just strickly Mickey and Minnie - Mark Poppins is there, etc. They are all enjoyable. The food is about the same, but I will saw a few years ago when the Polynesian redid the restaurant the food there was excellent.

I think it depends on what youa re looking for and if you have children what gender they are and how old they are. For girls, and some boys thanks to having Peter Pan there, Cindarellas Castle is the way to go. If you are a pooh fan....crystal Palace is it. Fora lively atmosphere...Chef Mickeys
I had a very good pecan-encrusted Goofy with mango chutney the other night. My wife had a less successful roast Minnie Mouse au jus. Hers was a little tough.

(Sorry, Karen, I just couldn't resist.)

Karen my favorite is by far at Chef Mickey's at the Contemporary Hotel. We love it there. The only thing I didn't like was last Christmas we went for X-Mas dinner and they didn't serve a turkey, no stuffing nothing to do with Christmas dinner, but when I had phoned for reservations they assured me that it was a wonderful authentic X-Mas feast. Oh well, it was still good food and lots of fun.

The Grand Floridian Hotel has a character dinner at night, you don't have to be a guest staying there and you could catch the monorail from the magic kingdoms main entrance.

Karen, for some really expert advice, and lots of it, go to www.disneyinfo.com and log on to thier boards. There are a million people who've done Disney every way possible and been to everything WDW has to offer. One of the boards is specifically devoted to meals and resorts. You'll get every pro and con on every character breakfast possible. I thought I was somewhat of an expert until I went to that site! Have fun!

My wife and I took our 2 year old son to the Chef Mickey's Breakfast at the Contemporary in April of this year. Not only did we have a great breakfast, but my son and Minnie now have a 'thing' going on. Minnie stayed at our table for about 5-10 mins and played with my son. He was so excited he was about to come out of his chair. We were able to take pictures with all of the characters giving my son a hug and even though it was very busy, we had all of the time we needed with the characters. I would recommend this one even though I have not been to any of the others. My son is a big Mickey fan and has pictures from the Breakfast all over his room. VERY Good deal!!!
