I needf a place to store a bag in Penn Station..

My wife and I will be taking a train to NYC.

We will be staying with friends from CT who will meet us at night..so we cant ask "our hotel" to store our bags.

Is there a secure place in Penn Station where we can store our bags?

Thanks

I believe that Amtrak has some kind of baggage storage...but if you're taking a different type of train in (like NJ Transit) you're out of luck.

However, lots of people on this board have said they haven't had a problem storing their bags at hotels, even if they are not staying there, sometimes for a small fee.

There are 2 hotels very close to Penn Station, the Pennsylvania and the Ramada. You can probably get your bags stored there for a small gratuity.

I don't think Penn Station stores bags anylonger post 9/11.

Have a great time in the city.

To my knowledge there is no longer anywhere in Penn Station for storing goods.

No hotel will store a "strange" non-guest bag. You might consider sending your things ahead via express mail and just carrying the essentials.

Penn Station has no stoarge area anywhere. For many reasons, terrorist attacks I'm sure is one of them. Pack light and carry the bag.. otherwise you are unfortunately out of luck.

Sue is wrong. On many occasions I have gone to a hotel convenient to me, none in the Penn Station area, unfortunately, and without stating that I am/was not a guest at that hotel, I say something like, "Would it be possible to store my bag here until later this afternoon?"

Almost always the bag is checked without question. Sometimes I'm asked if I have just checked out, and I always answer honestly. I have never been rejected. I never try it with more than one bag, and I always tip $5 on the way in and $5 on the way out.
