driving route to disneyland, Anaheim

driving from Woodland Hills to Disneyland - interested in easiest routes considering traffic patterns between locations - driving down Sunday afternoon and returning Wednesday morning

Either I-5 or the 405 will work - everything depends on conditions at the specific time. Just pay attention to the traffic reports. (You'd use 101 to get to either route)

got an android phone? Use the navigation feature and you'll get much more up to date current road conditions and re-routes without having to tune into a radio or anything else.

Going to Anaheim, your best bet by far on a Sunday afternoon will be US-101 south to I-5 south. Follow signs to Disneyland once in Anaheim. On a good day, expect that drive to last a bit less than one hour.

If you DON'T have a GPS with traffic update feature, simply reverse those directions to get back to Woodland Hills Wednesday morning and expect very heavy traffic basically the entire way. If you need to be somewhere at a specific time, plan on the drive taking at least 1 1/2 hours.

If you DO have a GPS with traffic update feature, just follow the directions and hope for the best.

By the way, taking the 405 "over the hill" to get to Disneyland would normally be a bit out of your way (basically you'd take the 405 south into Seal Beach and then hop CA-22 east-- then take Harbor Blvd. north into the Rathole-- er, Disneyland), unless the 101 or the 5 is totally closed. Then it's a viable option.

Thanks rjw: your directions were spot-on...actually, had to come back up to the central coast, so our return was: Harbor Blvd - I5 - 134 - 101 -- just in case anyone's interested
