Best cheap attractions in Las Vegas

I am going to Las Vegas in June with my 12 year old daugter for 3 days and I was curious what were some of the best attractions to see.

The pirate show at Treasure Island is outdoors and free. Check on the times of the free show at the Rio- IT is a parade that actually is propelled along the ceiling. Has a carnival theme. Watch the Bellagio fountains at night. Fremont Street Experience downtown. Watch the indoor thunderstorm at Alladin.

Plenty of attractions in Vegas are free. As mentioned, the Bellagio fountains at Treasure Island. Also, a 12 year old girl will also enjoy the Forum Shops, the Canal Shops at Venetian, and Desert Passage at Aladdin.

In addition, she might find the hotels like Bellagio, The Venetian, Paris, NYNY, etc interesting simply because of the themes and architecture.

The pirate show at Treasure Island is no more. It has been replaces with a more adult-themed show instead.

Other cheap attractions are the roller coaster at New York, New York, the 110 floor observatory at the Stratosphere($10), windown shop at the Venetian, explore the indoor garden at the Bellagio, check out the unique architecture of the Luxor.

Take a walk through the M&M store on the strip. Free to enter but hard to leave without a purchase. Lots of unique items.

Wander into the Lion Habitat at MGM. See the White Tigers at Mirage for free as well (I think they are still there). I think Forum Shops is a must do.

Go out into the desert if she has never been. Valley of Fire or Hoover dam tour will give you a flavor.

Touring the resorts, including the various shopping venues, will be the best bet. Especially since the walk between the resorts can be somewhat sleazy, what with all those guys giving out postcards for strip joints, escort services, etc. Las Vegas isn't going out of its way to attract families any more, so the whole experience is skewing more adult these days.

The pirates-and-wenches show at TI is called Sirens. It's PG-13 and cheesy at the same time. Spend more time with the white tigers at Mirage....

Rick Thomas' illusion show at the Tropicana is around $14 pp. He's very entertaining, and performs every afternoon.

There's also a free bird show at the Trop, I think at around 11 in the a.m.

Have fun!

It's not cheap/free, but I LOVE to go see the dolphins at Mirage! The baby, Maverick, was SO cute! You can stay as long as you like for the price of admission, but once you leave, you have to pay again, so don't go right before a meal.

The fountains at Bellagio in the evenings are really neat.

Caesar's Forum Shoppes have the animatronic statues that talk and move.

Take the trip out to Red Rock Canyon. The Visitor's Center is neat, and they have a desert tortoise habitat outside that is nice. See how many tortoises you can spot!

Ethel M Chocolates' tour is also free, though it is very difficult to leave without a purchase!
