Best Casino Buffets On The South Strip?
 

Since we'll be staying on the South side of the strip (Tropicana), any suggestions as to buffets to recommend? I know MGM has a good one but any other recommendations?

We usually go to the Paris Buffet but I don't know if we'll hang around center strip since we're going to a concert at Mandalay Bay and have dinner reservations before the show, , we'll most likely do one buffet over the weekend...maybe 2 depending.....

The Luxor is pretty decent. It's not on the same scale as Paris, but cheaper and a good value for the money. The Excalibur is terrible. The food is icky (at best) and they have a terrible system for getting food. Their buffet is inspired by the school cafeteria, with long lines to get your first and additional servings.

I was also unimpressed by the Mandalay Bay buffet. It was expensive (around the same as Paris), but TINY. The only redeeming factor is the all you can eat king crab legs. But if you're not eating the crab, you're just getting ripped off. The desserts were even so-so.

The good news is that the monorail is open. To be honest, I'm not sure of the stops, but it might be a convenient way to make it up to Paris. If that's really not an option, I would recommend the MGM. It really is the best on the South.

Aladdin is good but almost as far up as the Paris which is a bit better. Between the Aladdin and Paris on the sidewalk, they used to have some little coupon books that offered $5 off the Aladdin buffet during "early bird" hours.

Well, I was going to recommend Paris and MGM since we usually eat there. I haven't been to any other buffets unfortunately.

Although I can imagine that the buffet that Caesar's would be good.

I LOVE buffets because of the chance to sample so many different foods; just returned from LV and ate at the Luxor's lunch buffet--I thought it was pretty good. I believe it was $11.00. The melons were exceptional.

Thanks! We've eaten at Paris numerous times and were looking for something different. Paris is excellent and we may end up there again...we're going to have a busy Saturday....Star Trek exhibit at LV Hilton, dinner reservations and concert Saturday night so more than likely we'll either do a buffet Friday and/or Saturday morning.

Bally's Big Kitchen Buffet is the BEST value on the strip, in my opinion. My husband is a buffet magnet, so if he likes it, I know it's good. It's right down the middle of the spectrum between affordable and over-priced and there's always a good selection and because no one thinks about Bally's - there is almost never a big line.

I'd also like to take this opportunity to let you know that Aladdin's buffet is WAAAY overpriced! My gosh - we went there two weeks ago because we never encounter a line, and now I know why: breakfast on a Saturday morning cost $45 & change for two people!!!!! Oh my lord! That didn't even include the $5 tip we left either. So, $50 for a buffet breakfast? Never again! It was good, but not necessary for my mediocre taste buds. Yikes!

Next, Luxor buffet - never a line either and super-duper cheap at $11 per person for breakfast - BUT way low on the taste scale. Boring eggs and biscuits and gravy and that's it! Boring... But, cheap - so I guess that was our compromise after wasting so much money at Aladdin's buffet. :)
