Best Boulder Hotels under $200
Planning a trip to Boulder to visit DS in mid-Sept. I have the first few days at Chautauqua but I'll need to move for the last half of my trip. The Bolderado is a bit more than what I want to spend and the St Julian is WAY too much and not really my style anyway so knowing all that, any one have any suggestions?
Thanks everyone! |
Specific dates would help... rates vary from day to day.

Check the CU-Boulder website and see what hotels they recommend for parents. There will be some there in your price range.
You will love staying at Chautauqua Park. It's beautiful there. You are probably in one of the faculty cabins? Eat at the Dining Hall there, for at least one sunset dinner on their porch. It's great food and service, not ridiculously expensive. |
Boulder Marriott is very nice and in a good location. I stayed there last spring and it was around $120/night.

Thanks for the speedy replies. I need to book dates Sept 12-16 which is, of course a weekend. Maybe that's why I'm having some difficulty?
Peace, I'm really looking forward to my days at Chautauqua. Will certainly be eating at the dining hall and doing lots of walking to wear it off! So far I don't see much happening there that late in the season but maybe something will get added the schedule. |
jette, the walking and hiking around there is great. We lived in South Boulder way back when, and Chautauqua is one of our all-time favorites. A great vibe there. Like the art colony it's named after, I guess. The views of the Flatiron mountains from the Dining Hall are priceless.
You can drive up Baseline from Chautauqua, go to the top of Flagstaff, and hike a very short distance to see expansive views of the Continental Divide. Beautiful from up there, if you can drive the 10 or so minutes up the winding road. You might also enjoy visiting NOA and/or NCAR while you're there. I'd be afraid to spell out those acrynyms for you, but they're cool places to tour. Woody Allen filmed lots of "Sleeper" at NCAR, I think. |
I don't know how close you have to be, but this is a good hotel.

Loved the Westin Westminster. A few miles out of town, but stayed there when I visited my sis in Boulder a couple years ago. Fabulous hotel, rooftop pool, wonderful views of the mountains. Shopping and restaurants close. Just checked a few Sept dates and looked like 190 range. Great deal. Great hotel!

If you want to be right in Boulder, the Boulder Marriott is a great hotel and you're within walking distance to CU and Pearl Street.
The Renaissance in Broomfield is nice as is the Omni Interlocken right across the road. Both hotels are very close to Flatiron Mall (one of my favorite shopping destinations) but you're a 5 or so miles from Boulder proper. |
Just wanted to thank everyone for the info.
I absolutely loved my time in Chautauqua! I had a small cottage (405)wonderfully restored and spotlessly clean. It had a small full kitchen, bathroom, comfy queen bed and wonderful screened porch. We had dinner and b-fast at the lodge which again was wonderful and as a guest you get a 10% off coupon. The trails are great and the whole ambiance is so quiet and restful, I could have stayed for weeks! |
